Integrated Studies

Our unit for term 3 is called:
Restaurants!

This term, year 3 will be learning all about designing, making and operating a restaurant. We will also be visiting a real restaurant!

Students will design, make and operate a restaurant in their classroom to demonstrate their understanding:
  • of values in everyday situations and local contexts
  • of the place of social and environmental enquiry in peoples work and community lives
  • of how the human body works to explore their health and well being
  • that health is influenced by simple everyday actions of people
  • about the natural and physical world and their physical senses as a basis for exploring and testing their thinking about the world
  • that science has a place in peoples work and community lives
Following the excursion to the restaurant, students will produce a recount of their fact finding trip to the restaurant. They will also explore procedural texts, invitations and descriptions in the course of designing, making and operating their class restaurant.
